  1. A Journal Club is being developed, so that papers generated by SAFE funds can be published on the SAFE website.

  2. A standard SAFE presentation is being devised, which will give basic information about the project. Furthermore all presentations given by partners for SAFE are currently being collected for publication on the website.

  3. A SAFE newsletter and information leaflet are being written

  4. A frequently asked questions area for use by lay public is under construction to explain about NIPD

Deliverables:

D1   An up to date website that allows on-line reporting to facilitate the auditing and monitoring of the SAFE project, production of annual regular newsletters, press reseases, articles placed in lay and scientific press and hosting of open workshops. (ongoing through out)

D2    Raised level of public awareness of SAFE through regular newsletters, press releases, articles placed in lay and scientific press and hosting of open workshops. (ongoing though out)

D3    Patient and health professional information leaflets for dissemination across Europe (summer 2008)

D4    Raised level of health professional awareness of NIPD and SAFE though SAFE through regular (newsletters, press releases, and presentations at national and international meetings, articles placed scientific press and hosting of open workshops and involvement in and publication of audit results. (ongoing through out)

D5    Improved accessibility of information on NIPD and SAFE for non-English speakers (Sep 07- ongoing through out)

Milestones:

M1   Updating of website to include six monthly reporting and udating WP areas (ongoing though out)

M2   Development of website areas for financial reporting, JPA and budget requests (Feb 07)

M3   Website search tool (June 07)

M4   Ensure that 90% of SAFE publications are included in the journal club area on website (ongoing through out)

M5   Ensure that 60% SAFE presentations are on the website (either as complete PowerPoint presentations or as annotated notes) ((ongoing through out)

M7   Production of SAFE newsletter ( jan 07 and then at least annually)

M8   Timely and appropriate production of press releases (ongoing through out) 

M9   Workshop on NIPD as part of ESHG conference (May 09)

M10 Delivery of 3 GIG workshops of lay groups, to include members from Europe (Autumn 08)

M12 Delivery of audit of NIPD tests performed for clinical indications (Autumn 07 and ongoing through out)

M13 An overview of NIPD’ in London to include health policy makers SAFE-RCOG study group on NIPD for fetal RHDstatus (march 08)

M14 Presence, with SAFE workshops or SAFE stands, at a minimum of 2 national and international scientific conferences. (Autumn 09)

M15 Determination of the most effective means of delivering new information and technologies, using non-invasive prenatal diagnosis as the example, to key groups (April 08)

M16 Production of shortened newsletter translated into at least 3 other languages (Sep 09)

M17 Translation of frequently asked questions into at least 3 other languag (July 07)
