Julie Hogg is a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire, where she studied Adult Nursing and Midwifery. She has developed a special interest in counselling and pre-natal diagnosis and is based in the Fetal Medicine Unit at University College Hospital, London. Julie is involved in SAFE as a research midwife, and is a member of work package 3 and facilitates data collection for work package 7. She is co-ordinating a multi-centre study, where samples are collected across the UK from women whose pregnancies are at risk of aneuploidy, single gene disorders, rhesus disease and chromosomal rearrangements. These samples are currently stored awaiting refinement of ffDNA extraction techniques. She also assists Dr Lyn Chitty, who chairs the SoE Board with organisational and administrative responsibilities. |
