Dr. Gupta obtained his masters degree from Kanpur University, India. In 2001 he joined the laboratory of prenatal medicine, Basel Switzerland and finished his PhD in April 2005. During his PhD study, he characterized different placentally derived microparticles and studied their interaction with various immune cells. Dr. Gupta is currently working with Dr. Sinuhe Hahn and exploring molecular characteristics of placentally-derived syncytiotrophoblase microparticles (STBM) using proteomic and transcriptomic profiling. Dr. Gupta is also interested in learning role of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. |
