Dr Evelyn Tait graduated in Molecular Biology from Edinburgh University in 1991, and her research since then has been predominantly in the field of genomics, working for 4 years on physically mapping the Human X-chromosome, then going on to physically characterise the genome Candida albicans genome, for which she got her PhD at Aberdeen University in 2002, and following that up with work on the European Drosophila Genome Project. She worked for a brief time on the biochemistry of Saccharomyces cerevisiae before coming to work in R&D at the Blood Transfusion Service in Aberdeen, where she worked on developing novel systems for antibody screening prior to adopting her current role as SAFE Standardisation Assistant. |
