Dr. Sabine Rosenberger graduated in microbiology at the Karl-Franzens University of Graz in 2003. She then  undertook a PhD at the Institute of Biochemistry, Technical University of Graz and since October 2007 she is a post-doc researcher at the Medical University of Graz. She has experience in all standard molecular biology technologies like DNA isolation methods, gene synthesis, primer design, PCR methods (real-time PCR, standard PCR, mutagenesis PCR), cloning of genes, plasmid design, heterologous gene expression in E. coli and in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, signal sequences and protein targeting, methods for protein analysis, protein purification, determination of protein activity and assay development and Western Blotting. Furthermore she has experience in microscopy, electron microscopy, DC, GC-MS, cell culture, cell fractionation and immunological methods. Sabines’s work will focus on the quantification of cff-DNA (and mRNA) levels during deliveries at term and preterm. Additionally Sabine will look for polymorphisms in the immuno-regulatory genes IL-10 and TNF-α if they can be used as markers for preterm labour.
